Timbers that are frequently used for load-bearing situations (such as purlins) timbers must be strength graded: they are then put into a Strength Class.
The strength grading of timbers is carried out either by visual grading or by machine to British Standard EN 14081.
After grading the timbers are clearly marked with a legally required stamp to help identify that the products have been graded.
All timber for agricultural buildings can be wet graded by machine. We can offer machine wet graded to class C16 and visually graded timber is available subject to species availability. Large section, long length timbers are available subject to availablility and to be confirmed at time of enquiries, please see table below for products available.
